Milsearch's Research Department is key in our mission to identify all areas within our geographic market that are contaminated by UXO. The Position To support our growing volume of UXO research projects in Australia and Southeast Asia, Milsearch is seeking a highly motivated Researcher to join our team. Positions are available for full-time, part-time, or casual employment. As a Researcher, you will be responsible for completing various research projects in support of our activities alongside our current and experienced team members. The role of a full-time Researcher is broad and varied, but your main duties and responsibilities will include: Conduct research into potential UXO contamination in accordance with the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) guidelines C785 and C754, and the Australian Department of Defence, Defence UXO Management Manual. Conduct online and in-person research through a range of information sources including the Australian War Memorial and state, national, and overseas archives. Compiling research-based reports for UXO Threat and Risk Assessments. Compiling UXO Threat maps using QGIS. Job Requirements A keen interest in military history. A strong and proven report writing ability. Previous military service in areas related to explosive ordnance is preferred. A bachelor's degree in modern or military history preferred, or similar research-based tertiary education. Experience in GIS preferred. Depending on what formal qualifications the successful candidate holds and their level of relevant employment experience, the full-time Researcher position will attract a salary remuneration of AUD $75,000 to $125,000 per annum + superannuation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
