As the largest healthcare provider in East Gippsland, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) provides services to a rapidly growing population. The BRHS Medical Workforce provides services across a broad spectrum of care including our Emergency Department which currently receives approximately 20,000 varied presentations per year.

The Position:
You will provide senior medical support to the BRHS Emergency Department (ED) and other areas as required by delivering high-quality and locally appropriate medical care. You will provide leadership and supervision to our Interns, Hospital Medical Officers and Registrars and provide expert input into clinical governance activities. Specialist rural and remote training pathways exist and applicants with these career aspirations will be supported and encouraged to undertake further training.

Key selection criteria:
10. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor or Surgery (or equivalent)
11. Current of eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia
12. At least 10 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including substantial periods of work in Emergency Medicine
13. Competence in advanced life support techniques, advanced paediatric life support techniques and advanced airway management
14. AMC parts 1 & 2 passed
