Provide high level financial advice and support to the Executive Director / General Manager of the Finance Group to enable them to meet their performance goals and objectives and to ensure they have a complete picture of their financial position.
The Senior Management Accountant role supports the executive and senior leadership teams of individual business units by providing management accounting services, including all aspects of management accounting.
This role is one of 6 Management Accountants and 5 Senior Management Accountants who report to the Manager, Management Accounting within the Finance Division. These roles work within allocated portfolios to provide financial support to the hospital and community facilities across CQ Health.
The Senior Management Accountant position will work closely with the Management Accountants on work tasks and priorities and support them in their training and development.
About the role: This position reports within the Finance group and works closely with the assigned Business Unit, particularly the respective Executive Director / General Manager and the Operational Leadership Team.
The role supports Executive Directors / General Managers to meet their financial accountabilities by preparing and analysing data, identifying trends and risks, problem solving and advising on strategies to enable Business Units to achieve their performance goals.
Assist the Executive Director / General Manager to prepare for performance meetings by provision of timely and relevant reports. Ensure adverse performance indicators and budget variances are investigated in a timely manner and appropriate corrective actions are identified and recommended to relevant managers. About you: While not mandatory, possession of a relevant qualification from a registered tertiary institution i.e. (Business, Commerce, Accounting or other relevant discipline and Certified Practising Accountant / Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand (CPA/CA) is highly desirable.
What we offer: Total remuneration value of up to $148,323 p.a. is comprised of:
