Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain and develop the College gardens and ovals, including mowing of grass, weeding, planting and maintenance of gardens. Apply fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides as required.
Maintain sports fields, line marking, irrigation, and sporting facilities on ovals.
Operate and basic maintenance of grounds and landscaping vehicles and equipment
Maintain general tidiness of the College grounds with an attention to detail
Maintenance and monitoring of irrigation systems.
Assist during sporting activities and College Events – setup, pack up
Carries out cleaning and maintenance of garden tools, equipment and report any defects for attention.
Complete all record books, service logs and any other book work.
Attend team meetings and required training.
General repairs and maintenance, including minor works such as patching and painting, carpentry and preventative maintenance as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Essential Criteria
Experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance and using grounds machinery and equipment including power tools (hand tools including saws, hammers, drills, etc)
Driver’s License
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Criteria
Certificate in Horticulture (level 3) or equivalent competencies gained through structured training
Previous experience in a College or school environment.
Demonstrated competence in basic preventative and reactive maintenance
Mandatory Clearances/Certifications
Blue Card, in accordance with ‘No Card, No Start law’, as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 / QCT Registration
First Aid certification (or willingness to complete first aid training)
