Reporting to a seasoned technical Group Financial Controller, this position will focus on the Asia Pacific business, particularly ANZ. Based in North Sydney the business has just moved into new offices.
This technical role presents new challenges and rewards daily as you assist with monthly financial reporting, consolidation, and managing the audit. This opportunity will allow you to expand your financial knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role will require you to manage the finance function and focus on:
* Responsible for monthly financial reporting and consolidation, including group reporting, group disclosure packs, and monthly reports.
* Responsibility for general ledger control, including month-end processes, GL account reconciliations, journal control, chart of accounts, and provision management.
* Ensuring activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, and ethical and professional Accounting Standards and practices, and managing their implications within the business.
* Building strong and positive relationships across the department and the business, and working collaboratively during peak workload times.
* Promoting the coaching and development of your team, and having a positive impact on the professional standards and development across other finance professionals in the business.
* Managing Lease reporting in terms of AASB 16 - monthly, forecasts and budgets.
* Preparation of the Statutory Financial Statements.
Your Skills & Experience
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
* Additional qualifications such as CPA or CA (CA is preferred but not essential).
* Big Four experience will be highly regarded.
* IFRS 9, 15, and/or 16 experience.
* Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
* Exceptional experience with TM1, SAP, and Cognos.
* Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
* Brilliant organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Ability and willingness to meet business-critical deadlines.
* Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently, and prioritize tasks.
