Reporting to the Estimating & Procurement Manager with secondary line reporting to the General Manager, the candidate’s primary responsibility will be taking ownership of the bid management process, leading the bid team through tenders from start to finish. This role ensures submissions are developed to a consistently high standard and align with McMahon Services' expectations for quality and success.This role is a full-time Permanent opportunity based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Relocation cost is covered for the right candidate.Responsibilities:Management of bids/tenders to ensure they are developed to a consistently high standardEmploy critical thinking and problem solving skills to help interpret and respond to bid/tender requirementsEstablish a strong relationship with the pre-contract team to ensure the identified opportunities are understood and pursuedDevise successful strategies to develop winning bids/tenders, considering McMahon Services' operating and profit margins requiredAssess and address the technical and commercial risks relating to ongoing bidsOptimise and manage bidding budgetsNegotiate with specialist suppliers and/or subcontractorsOversee the team during the bid process, ensuring internal deadlines are met and bids are submitted on timeAttend the handover meeting from the tendering to delivery if the bid is successfulWork with the key members of the project team and the client organisations to obtain the information required to compile the bidAbout you:To be successful in the role, you will need:Tertiary qualifications in Building Construction or EngineeringA minimum of 5 years experience in the building or civil construction industry or related industry experience with a demonstrated success in delivering financial targets, timeframes, planning and logistics managementStrong leadership skills with an ability to lead change and develop/mentor staffProven problem-solving ability, detailed orientation and effective inter-personal skillsExperience in negotiation and client relationship building accompanied with a sound understanding of contract management and cost optimisationAn interest in the sectors in which McMahon Services operates, couple with a willingness to keep up to date with industry trends, regulations and legislationProficient in use of MS SuiteDefence bid/tendering experience (highly regarded)As an employer who embraces equal opportunity and diversity, we strongly encourage female, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
