The PositionAn exciting permanent position for a Full-Time Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist in Psychiatry has become available in Northern QLD. Roles in both inpatient and community services are available, either separately or integrated.Responsibilities include:• Providing an advanced standard of clinical care through the provision of assessment and treatment services to individuals presenting with psychiatric, alcohol and other drug, emotional and/or behavioural disturbances to facilities within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service, including those being treated under the Mental Health Act (2016).• Supporting ongoing education within the mental health service through the supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and medical students.Health ServiceCompromising of an acute mental health inpatient facility with 24 beds and a Step-Up Step-Down Unit with 10 beds. Community Mental Health Services include an Acute Care Service, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Continuing Care Team, Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team, Early Psychosis service ages 16-25, Child and Youth Mental Health, Older Persons Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs Services. There is also opportunity for involvement in community and inpatient services to clients managed and supported on forensic orders. The rural communities are serviced by outreaching community teams in the surrounding areas.The LocationBased within a vibrant regional centre in tropical North Queensland, servicing a population of over 180,000. The region has a thriving economy that includes a diverse range of tourism, agriculture, industry, mining, education and health industries. North Queensland provides relaxed and comfortable rural and coastal living opportunities, only an hour flight from Brisbane and a short distance to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.Essential CriteriaMandatory possession of a medicine degree from a registered tertiary institution and; Registration with the Medical Board of Australia with Specialist registration in Psychiatry or appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia to practise in the specialist position and; Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship via the substantial comparability pathway of the Royal Australian College and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) The PackageTotal remuneration value of up to $470,780 (L24) is comprised of: A salary between $204,206 - $237,196 (L18-L24)Total remuneration value of up to $514,452 (L27) is comprised of: A salary between $244,201 - $258,910 (L25-L27)Other Benefits Include:12.75% employer superannuation contribution 17.5% leave loading is paid for 4 weeks leave Generous Salary Sacrificing (conditions apply) Professional Development Leave 3.6 weeks p.a.
