RAISE. Vic supports people with autism spectrum disorder, developmental and intellectual disability, Acquired brain injury and participants with complex and challenging behaviours of concern. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking like minded people to join the RAISE. Vic team. We are seeking staff who are dynamic, with experience in supporting a range of different participants and support needs. The Disability Support Worker is responsible for the delivery of programs and supports that keep people safe, engaged and actively supported. All interaction needs to facilitate choice and control, be flexible and promote inclusion, community-based options, and fun. The role would include 1:1 support, community access and possibility for work within our short term accommodation service in Long Forest in addition to the SIL property. RAISE. Vic is not able to support participants with high physical support needs, as the STA property is not fully accessible, and the Directors do not have professional experience supporting this cohort.You need reasonable fitness, ability to support participants at the swimming pool, going for walks, personal care, lifting (up to 10 kg), household tasks, driving, kicking the footy.If you have physical limitations, let us know.KEY SELECTION CRITERIA ?Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.Reliable character.Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals.Ability to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team. Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.Cleared NDIS Workers Screening Check Completion of NDIS Worker Induction Modules/Infection Control moduleSigned NDIS Code of ConductDesirable ?Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualification or working towards qualifications within 12 months.Valid Driver's License.Please see the position description attached for more information.
