A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing & managing the Thales Australia Payroll and superannuation, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting including preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end Payroll statements. You will ensure compliance with government regulations, establishing and implementing policies on matters such as Payroll advancements to employees and the hiring, training and supervision of Payroll staff. The Payroll Manager is also responsible for the management of the existing outsourced managed services, meeting agreed SLA and ensuring its continued improvement. YOUR ROLE Responsible for the efficient end to end delivery of all Payroll services through leadership of the Payroll and Managed Service team. Accountable for the administration of the payroll function, including the accurate and timely preparation, calculation and disbursement of compensation, deductions, and payroll taxes. Ensures that payroll processes are in accordance with federal and provincial employment standards and legislation. Develop an effective working relationship across all areas of the business, with a focus on effective communication, early identification of service issues, escalation management and process improvement. Ensure risk and quality control for Payroll transactions, data and administration are in place including audit processes to ensure accuracy of payroll. Develop and enhance the self-service and automation progressing our employee experience and effectiveness of the Payroll function. Continually review processes to identify bottlenecks/opportunities for automation in the optimisation of service delivery and capacity. Drive and close out remaining implementation of Ramco solution. Oversight of program to ensure that solution meets future payroll and time and attendance requirements. YOUR EXPERIENCE Strong experience in a transformative payroll manager role. Strong Australian payroll, superannuation and tax legislation. Demonstrated experience building new payroll service teams. Experience managing onshore and offshore teams. Pragmatic and proven approach to problem-solving and strong decision-making skills. Exceptional customer service skills with a strong ability to develop and maintain customer relationships. Ability to influence, negotiate and to promote organisational processes and culture. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with an excellent telephone manner and ability to articulate accurate advice. Demonstrated experience in process improvement design and delivery.
