Position Overview: Caloundra Psychology Services is seeking a Psychologist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and treatment for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. This role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate professional who is looking to work in a flexible, client-centered environment while maintaining independence in managing their practice.
Key Responsibilities: Psychological Assessments & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using evidence-based tools and methods, including clinical interviews and standardized assessments. Provide accurate diagnoses in line with current psychological models (e.g., DSM-5, ICD-10).Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and other modalities. Tailor approaches to suit individual client needs across various age groups and presenting issues (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties).Case Management & Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed case notes, treatment plans, and progress reports in line with ethical and legal standards. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurately reflects the clinical work being undertaken.Collaboration & Peer Support: Collaborate with other healthcare providers, as appropriate, to ensure integrated care for clients. Participate in monthly peer consultations to foster a supportive working environment.Client Education & Psychoeducation: Educate clients about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and self-help techniques. Help clients develop resilience, emotional regulation, and adaptive skills.Referral Management: Refer clients to appropriate external services or professionals, when necessary, to support their treatment plan (e.g., psychiatry, GP referrals, external therapists).Flexibility & Autonomy: Manage your own caseload and schedule. Tailor your work environment to suit your needs while adhering to the practice's standards and policies.Key Requirements: Qualifications:Full registration as a Clinical Psychologist or General Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).Postgraduate qualifications in Psychology (e.g., Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology for Clinical Psychologists).Medicare provider number (or the ability to obtain) to offer Better Access services is an advantage.Experience:Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, and adults, is highly desirable.Skills & Attributes:Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive therapeutic relationships.Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.Knowledge of a range of therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR) and willingness to adapt to the needs of clients.Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to high professional and ethical standards.Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom to set your own hours and work from a location that suits you (whether in-person at our clinic in Caloundra, via telehealth, or a combination of both).Supportive Team Environment: Work alongside a team of experienced psychologists who offer regular supervision and opportunities for peer consultation.
