Operationally managed by Nursing Managers, the DFV CNC will work closely with Emergency Department Staff, Social Workers, and receive support from project managers and fellow CNCs specialising in women's health and sexual assault, creating a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.The DFV CNC's week will encompass a blend of clinical practice, case management, and participation in team meetings. Key responsibilities include conducting forensic examinations - gathering evidence, documenting injuries, and providing essential medical care to domestic violence patients. They will also offer immediate emotional support, coordinate follow-up care, and advocate for patients' needs alongside relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the DFV CNC will engage in regular meetings to discuss cases and enhance service delivery, as well as conduct educational sessions to equip healthcare professionals with knowledge about the forensic response to domestic and family violence.
