Payroll Officer - Full-Time, Fixed Term (12 Months) Salary : $75k - $80k Base + Super + NFP Salary Packaging
About the Role :
Diabetes Australia is a leading national organization dedicated to supporting people living with diabetes, advocating for better healthcare, and advancing research to improve diabetes care and prevention. This purpose-driven organisation is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team on a full-time, fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, working with a team to ensure smooth operations.
This role will involve processing payroll for approximately 350 employees, interpreting awards and Enterprise Agreements (EA), managing timecard variations, and maintaining leave balances.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll, ensuring all deadlines are met and supporting other departments in payroll-related matters.
Key Responsibilities :
End-to-end payroll processing for 350 employees, including timecard variations, overtime, and leave balances. Interpretation of Award and EA conditions, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations. Management of the payroll inbox, responding to queries and resolving issues effectively. Manual calculation of overtime and leave balances, ensuring accuracy. Work autonomously and ensure payroll is processed without errors, troubleshooting any discrepancies. Assist with payroll-related projects, such as long service leave reviews and streamlining payroll processes. Ideal Candidate :
The ideal candidate will have at least 4-5 years of payroll experience, with understanding of timecard variations, overtime, and leave calculations. A good understanding of payroll systems is essential, and familiarity with MicroPay and Connx will be advantageous. You must be confident in managing complex payroll tasks, interpreting timecards, and handling employee queries. Experience in managing payroll inboxes and responding to employee queries. A strong communicator, you will be able to explain complex payroll information in a clear and concise manner. You will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently. Advanced Excel skills (intermediate level). Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in problem-solving. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Additional Information :
Location : Glebe, Sydney (central location with excellent public transport options). Flexible working arrangements : 3 days working from home, 2 days in the office. Salary : $75k - $80k Base + Super + Salary Packaging. Work Environment : Friendly and collaborative team, with a positive and supportive work culture.
