The Practice & Capability Lead sits within the Engineering Practices team and leads up the Practice & Capability function.
The Practice & Capability function works with relevant Practice Leads to establish Operational Controls, Standards, Frameworks, Processes, documentation and Governance and ensure these are embedded across our engineering community.
The Practice & Capability Lead will partner closely with Practice Leads and the Technology Enablement Lead to ensure that we continue to equip our engineering workforce with the relevant capabilities to stay abreast of emerging technologies and processes within market.
Your Contribution:
Crafts & Practices: Establish and maintain the communities of practices focusing on key skills & disciplines of the SDLC.
Knowledge Management: Work with relevant Practices Leads to establish a library of artefacts and documentation to help streamline the practices across our engineering community.
Capability Development: In partnerships with Practice Leads identify opportunities and provide strong thought leadership to continuously modernise, develop and embed best practices.
Software Development Governance: Establish and facilitate the SDLC Governance forum with relevant Practice Leads to ensure that the relevant Controls, Frameworks, Tools and Processes from our DevSecOps framework are embedded across our engineering teams.
Engineering uplift: Deliver continuous improvement services to technology teams to modernise and uplift performance of engineering, delivery and execution, using a combination of modern engineering, architecture, tooling, measurement and standards and practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with other technology teams, including architecture, common platforms, cloud and ops, and domain teams to ensure alignment of engineering strategy, practices and standards.
Emerging Trends: Monitor and anticipate industry trends, in both technologies and ways of working and helping continuously improve the different phases of the SDLC.
Deliverable: Legal and regulatory compliance, adherence to internal operating procedures together with the management of business risks is the responsibility of every Bupa employee.
You are required to comply with Bupa's risk and compliance policies, procedures, frameworks and regulatory requirements, as they apply to your specific role at Bupa.
Qualifications, training & Experience:
At least 5 years of industry experience in Software Engineering related role with full E2E experience across the SDLC lifecycle.
Experience establishing Craft based communities of practice within an enterprise scale organisation.
Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline or equivalent professional experience (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering).
Experience and familiarity with modern ways of working such as Agile Development, Product Management Methodologies.
Excellent stakeholder management with evidence in driving change and influencing at scale.
Experience working within matrix structures, with demonstrated ability to broker outcomes effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and peers.
