Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Maritime Innovation team based at Tonsley, SA, reporting to the Principal Marine Engineer.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.Working across all aspects of the Maritime Business, you will support a team in identifying pain points and efficiency bottlenecks, while developing innovative solutions using various technologies to address these challenges.Key responsibilities include:Act as a technical lead on specific projects within the Maritime Innovation team.Be a representative for the Maritime Innovation team at internal, external and customer project sessions.Provide and develop electrical engineering design specifications and activities to projects within the Maritime Innovation team.Participate in developing, maintaining, and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need.Conduct technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options as well as prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the design of Maritime Innovation projects.Lead conversations with stakeholders, customers and suppliers on engineering matters.Participate in the development and review of safety risk assessment and technical risk assessment.Present project deliverables on a regular basis through Line Zero tours.Provide development and guidance to junior engineers.About YOUBachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.Experience in developing electrical equipment designs, conducting design reviews, performing design analyses, and implementing, integrating, and testing electrical/electronic solutions.Ability to lead small to medium sized multi-disciplinary engineering teams.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
