This Federal government department is currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior Networking Engineer/Specialist. You will be working across a portfolio of projects and responsible for technical performance, sustainment and enhancements of one or more operational software-based systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform system design, maintenance and support tasks throughout the system life cycle
2. Apply Systems Engineering and specialist expertise in the areas of planning, design, acquisition, and implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems
3. Manage the technology change process, ensuring effective configuration management and change control is put in place
4. Identify, manage and track risks associated to the program of work
Requirements:
1. A degree in Engineering or Information Technology from an Australian tertiary institution or certified equivalent qualification (for overseas qualifications)
2. A sound understanding of and demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering practices throughout the SDLC and system management processes
3. Extensive experience in the design, development, testing and implementation of robust and reliable software systems. This includes the over-arching aspects of quality assurance and configuration management
4. Experience in designing, maintaining and supporting management systems: N-tier architectures and distributed systems, Real-time systems, Message handling, and Internet technologies (Highly Desirable)
