As the Statutory Accountant, you have the exciting opportunity to coordinate and maintain the timely and accurate delivery of statutory reporting services to the organisation, including financial statements. You will be the principal contact with the external auditor and play a pivotal role in ensuring all statutory accounting requirements are met. As a hands-on leader, responsible for accounts payable, assets and special projects, you'll maintain high standards across your team while fostering a collaborative environment.
You'll find growth through:
* Playing a hands-on role in the preparation of the Statutory Reports annually.
* Ensuring assets are accounted for correctly.
* Working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the external Audit program is achieved annually.
* Leading a small but diverse team.
What you'll bring
You have strong leadership qualities and are able to support your team while also working independently. You have demonstrated experience in delivering accounting advice and services, with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and prioritise issues to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor in Accounting or related discipline.
* Extensive experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated strategic leadership skills.
* Thorough knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and NSW Local Government Asset Accounting Manual.
* Sound written and oral communication skills and project management skills.
* Advanced Excel and database query skills.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $110,345 to $128,239.
