Current opportunity As a Senior Manager in the National Risk & Ethics team youwill use your analytical, research, investigative, organisationaland communication skills to promote compliance with auditorindependence rules and regulations as well as support the team indelivering on key independence, conflicts and ethics projects.
Work closely with stakeholders within the business andcolleagues in our Central Risk Team on auditor independenceconsultations and conflicts queries by applying the relevantauditor independence rules and regulations as well as internalpolicies and procedures.
Experience applying auditor independencerules in relation to scope of services or personal independence orbusiness relationships is required.
Perform a management role in relation to assigned independence,conflicts and ethics projects.
This will involve but not be limitedto the following: Understanding the changes to policies, procedures, rules and legislation by attending webinars, reviewing exposure drafts and draft policies and procedures and providing input into and co-ordinating feedback in relation to the changes (standard setters, global, BDO locally) Project mapping of the current and future state to identify potential enhancements to existing policies and procedures or propose new policies and procedures based on changes Socialise project with relevant stakeholders Design and development or updating of existing tools, policies and process and socialisation thereof with relevant stakeholders Liaising with the Project Manager to formalise a communication and learning plan to educate stakeholders in relation to the project Assist with technical content development of communication and learning materials What you'll need to succeed We are looking for a candidate with p rovenexperience in understanding a revised auditorindependence standard and implementing changes toreflect the revised provisions in the standard. Youmust have strong knowledge of independence rules andregulations.
Combined with: Demonstrable experience in a similar role in a Professional Services firm Outstanding people leadership skills Hands on approach, willing to action day to day tasks to relieve pressure points for the team Ability to quickly get up to speed with internal policies and procedures relating to independence, conflicts and ethics Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task across various projects Experience in drafting communication and developing learning modules What we will offer you This role is open to be based in any of our integratedoffices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.
