About the role
Annual base salary (80 hours per fortnight) - $182,106 - $266,677
This position is responsible for the provision of specialist Geriatric services to the highest practical standards to patients in the Older Person population in the West Moreton region which includes providing care to the patients in the in-patient Geriatric Unit, consultative services to general medical and surgical wards and Older Persons Mental Health, Ortho-geriatric service, specialised Geriatric clinics and participating in an on-call roster.
Older Person Services at Ipswich Hospital comprise the following combined in-house and community services:
Acute Care of the Elderly unit Geriatric Evaluation and Management inpatient unit Orthogeriatric Service Residential Aged Care Support Service Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention (GEDI) team Geriatric Evaluation and Management in Hospital in the Home (GEMHITH) Geriatric Specialist Out-patient Service The successful applicant will provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care.
Provide professional leadership within a specialist medical area and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated interpersonal skills which allow effective communication in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety and quality assurance initiatives, as well as the ability to conduct audits and data analysis of key outcome measures.
Experience in relevant areas of inpatient and outpatient care.
A sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resource issues including time management, Workplace Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-discrimination, and Code of Conduct.
Mandatory Requirements:
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.
