Lung and Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Nurse CoordinatorJob Reference: 1442Position Title: Lung and Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Nurse CoordinatorClassification: YW17Salary per fortnight (exc. super): $4,152.40Hours per fortnight: up to 80 hrs (includes ADO every 4 weeks)Employment Status: Fixed Term Full Time and Part Time hours availableThe purpose of McGrath sponsored Lung and Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Nurse Coordinator (LOGCNC) position is to provide expert nursing care, clinical advice and information, care coordination and navigation support to patients, nurses, and other health care professionals with regards to lung, oesophageal and gastric cancers across the cancer care continuum. The role will primarily focus on providing patients with timely access to cancer services, appropriate clinical work up, and support throughout treatment and follow up care consistent with the Lung and Oesophago-Gastric optimal care pathways (OCP). The incumbent will provide collaborative clinical and supportive care for people and their families, along with the facilitation of communication across the multidisciplinary cancer care team.The role will act as a specialist resource to clinicians, providing a central role for coordination of management of patients with lung, oesophageal and gastric cancer, including education and clinical leadership. The role will work closely with the Thoracic Surgeons, Respiratory Physicians, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, General Practitioners, Nursing and Allied health staff, Thoracic Multi-disciplinary members as a key part of the treatment team.The LOGCNC will be situated in the Oncology unit within the Cancer Centre, providing expert care and resource across the following areas of Bendigo Health to include: thoracic oncology clinics, chemotherapy unit, oncology clinics, radiotherapy, palliative care, inpatient wards and other services as required.Interested?We’d love to hear from you!
