What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity awaits for a Health Information Release Officer / Clinical Coder to join the team at Lithgow Hospital on a Permanent Part Time basis.
The Health Information Release Officer / Clinical Coder is responsible for the:
1. Management of the medico legal / information release functions across Lithgow / Portland Health Services, including auditing, statistics, and KPIs.
2. Supervision of record keeping and record control functions of the Health Information and Record Service.
3. Accurate assignment of clinical codes to inpatient episodes of care for Lithgow / Portland Health Services.
4. Providing Health Information advice and assistance (ROI) to community Health Services and Lithgow Private Hospital.
5. Providing an efficient, prompt and customer focused medical record services that provides accurate information for the ongoing health care of clients.
6. Developing and maintain effective communication with service departments and partners
7. Participating as a member of the NBMLHD Health Information Best Practice Group and other relevant committees and working parties, as directed.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
