The property is located 180km north of Perth and has 3 farming Enterprises: A mixed grain Enterprise, a commercial merino sheep-for-wool Enterprise and a merino sheep stud Enterprise.
The position is for an experienced cropping focused farm manager to join the business.
Reporting to the Owner, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily farm operations on a property spanning 10,000 acres comprised of 70% commercial cropping (wheat/canola/barley), and 30% merino sheep (6,000 head, including a Merino Sheep Stud).
The property is managed by both the Owner and a farm manager in a dual-managerial system. They work closely together to allocate all strategic planning and day-to-day operations.
Cropping Enterprise (70%)
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
7. Cropping and general seeding work including tractor driving and spraying
8. Harvest related activities including header, truck and chaser-bin operation.
9. Canola and cereals experience
10. Staff and contractor management
11. GPS operation and VRT use
12. Strong herbicide and pesticide knowledge
13. Sound agronomic knowledge and ability to apply proactively
14. WH & S knowledge and focus on compliance
15. Strong mechanical and repair work abilities a must
16. Fencing, clearing and rock picking
17. Welding and workshop activities
18. Record keeping
19. Knowledge of DBS seeding equipment preferred
Sheep Enterprise (30%)
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
20. Production feeding / strategic feeding to obtain high scanning rates and healthy progeny
21. Healthy flock via pasture management and supplementary feeding.
22. Manage a Nucleus Flock to provide ram replacements.
23. Focus on output per hectare.

Education / Training / Key Skills:
24. 10+ years cropping experience, with a strong chemical preparation/application skills set
25. A heavy vehicle licence would be an advantage
26. A tertiary education is desirable but not essential.
27. An HR truck licence is required, but can be attained upon filling the position.
28. AgSafe or ChemCert accreditation is required or the willingness to obtain
29. Mechanical qualifications will be well regarded.
30. Must have an HR drivers licence (preferably HC)
31. Chemical user’s accreditation (ACUP)
32. Excellent mechanical expertise
33. Understanding of GPS guidance systems
34. Light engineering and fabrication (welding)

35. The successful candidate will be well organised, self-motivated and reliable with good communication skills and a personable outgoing manner
36. Attention to detail, a methodical approach and the ability to work unsupervised is essential
37. The successful candidate will be required to integrate into the property’s collaborative culture where strong communication skills and a strong work ethic is mandatory
