Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide patient-centred nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals and significant others to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient management within the Day Surgery Ward.
Key responsibilities and duties include: Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of careDemonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding careImplementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provisionWorking collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every timeMaintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growthAbout you You will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment where you can become part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care.
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)Demonstrated nursing experience within a Day Surgery or perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional trainingExcellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principlesBe an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposesMater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
