About the role
The primary responsibilities of a Trainer and Assessor is to plan, develop and deliver quality and effective vocational education training and assessment in accordance with the relevant training packages, Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 and the Australian Qualifications Framework. This role involves designing and delivering training sessions for a variety of environments including classrooms; remote communities, simulated settings and industry and workplaces, developing and updating training materials, and assessing learners’ performance against established industry standards. The VET Trainer and Assessor plays a crucial role in equipping our students with practical skills and knowledge that align with current industry requirements, thereby enhancing their employability and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and facilitate quality, engaging and interactive training and assessment in Nursing programs, that meet the requirements and standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 and Australian Qualifications Framework in a variety of environments including classrooms, remote communities, simulated settings, industry and workplaces.
* Assess and evaluate student performance and provide support and constructive feedback on their development and learning outcomes.
* Develop and update training material to ensure they meet industry standards.
* Collaborate and liaise with Healthcare facilities to build relationships and to provide practical training opportunities.
* Maintain and develop professional relevance and expertise in educational and technical disciplines.
* Liaise with local industry, other educational providers and the community to ensure that education and training are relevant and responsive to needs.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* Bachelor of Nursing (Category A – C).
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Clinical Experience.
* TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
* Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
* Demonstrated Experience in undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
