We are currently recruiting a Construction Engineer (SMP) to join a Global EPC on a FIFO basis to Karratha from Perth on a 2/1 roster.This is a site engineering role supporting the onsite team, preparing work packs for base scope and discovery works & also with field engineering queries for mechanical, piping and structural disciplines.Position Purpose:Produce safe, high quality cost-effective, timely and environmentally appropriate construction engineering solutionsProvide engineering supervision and technical assistance at manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sitesInterface with other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders to maximize constructability of deliverablesProvide the interface between site and engineering centers for management of change purposesPrepare documentation for bid, assessment and award of site-based subcontracts.Ensure that industry standards and Group rules with respect to allocated construction engineering scopes of work are adhered to.Main responsibilities:Interface with relevant engineering disciplines during engineering, fabrication and executionReview engineering deliverables to ensure constructability is defined.Manage standard and non-standard construction engineering performed by Engineering Consultants / Suppliers to meet project, statutory and Group rules to project schedulePreparation of execution plans and input to project delivery plansPreparation of project estimates as required to support projects.Attend meetings with Clients, Suppliers and / or Consultants to assist on technical issues relating to fabrication/construction.As required by projects, manage procurement of either permanent or temporary material / equipment associated with construction engineeringManage and monitor Implementation Contractor fabrication schedule ensuring delivery to siteManage and monitor Implementation Contractor fabricated items ensuring delivery to sitePreparation, input to constructability reviews identifying potential fabrication/construction issuesInput to the procurement, subcontract, and fabrication plansPrepare Fabrication Cards for all fabrication scopes based on discipline design deliverablesProvide fabrication cost and schedule estimates from sub-contractorsPreparation and review of implementation work packs - identify scope and issuesFollow up on quality and delivery of fabricated items/packagesPrepares progress reports to the project management, internal and external stakeholdersManaging the planning and design stages of construction projectsIdentify, define site-based changes to design deliverables, and support the MOC process as delegated by the Site ManagerKnowledge/Skills:Strong onshore plant construction backgroundTrack record of Australian construction projectsExperienced in brownfields execution projects within onshore plantsProven experience related to proactive control of project cost and scheduleComputer literate (P6 advantageous)If interested, please email your CV to Must have Australian working rights to be considered
