The diverse and talented staff in the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) play a central role in achieving ECU's vision, and in designing and implementing future-oriented teaching and learning strategies. With its base at the Joondalup Campus, the CLT delivers a comprehensive suite of services and programmes.
The Teaching Quality team in the Centre for Learning and Teaching supports the development of excellence in curriculum, assessment, and teaching at ECU by working collaboratively with staff in Schools and professional service centres.
The Centre is seeking Senior Learning Designers who will contribute to a strong team environment in CLT and provide leadership and expert advice to individuals, course teaching teams, and Schools to implement curriculum transformation at scale.
The Role
The Centre is seeking a Senior Learning Designer who is passionate about supporting academic and professional staff to enhance the student learning experience and ensure student success. The successful candidate/s will demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in applying effective curriculum and learning design principles and strategies for consistent quality in a higher education setting.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate considerable project management skills, judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with professional and academic staff. Your ability to support academic teaching staff in whole-of-course learning and curriculum design, assessment and activity design, engaging content design, and the use of technologies for blended and online learning are also key to success in this position.
Selection Criteria
Suitable candidates will meet the following key criteria:
4. Masters degree or higher qualification in relevant field (e.g. Learning Sciences, Education, Instructional Design) or demonstrated equivalence;
5. Ability to apply learning design principles and evidence-based approaches to improve learning outcomes and support active and engaged learning in unit and course design;
6. Experience supporting a team of academic staff to transform their curriculum and practice with high quality, engaging, and innovative approaches appropriate for online and face-to-face teaching;
7. Demonstrated commitment to learning and supporting staff to use emerging technologies; new pedagogical approaches; and sound assessment practices to enhance the teaching and learning experience;
8. Strong communication skills, especially interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and organisational staff and management at all levels.
9. Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required.
10. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and lifelong learning.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $111,152 to $125,191 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
