Glamorgan Spring Bay Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced people-focused Human Resources Business Partner to join their team, based in Triabunna, Tasmania.

The Role:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for case-managing people-related matters and ensuring that the framework for leading and managing people is in place and compliant. Councils WHS officer is the only direct report to the position.
You will be experienced in developing policy and procedures and be comfortable engaging with all levels of the workforce to identify areas for improvement and drive change.
The role is diverse and encompasses:
recruitment
industrial advice and negotiations
performance management
learning and development together with workforce planning.
To support these activities, you will be the primary driver of all employment documentation, auditing human resource compliance and other individual people and project work.
You will support the leadership team to improve the safety management system to provide a healthy and safe work environment. As well as coordinate safety reporting and the administration of work-related injuries including insurance liaison, tribunal disputation and rehabilitation.
About You:
To be considered for the role, you will need a degree qualification and experience in human resources and will have demonstrated experience or qualifications in Work Health and Safety, including workers' compensation. Local government knowledge would be ideal, however, a demonstrated capacity to build networks and relevant industry knowledge will be sufficient.
