As a WorkSafe Inspector, you will attend a comprehensive training program in a supportive environment.
Once appointed, you will spend a large portion of your time inspecting workplaces across a wide range of industries, including Construction, Health Care, Education & Training, Manufacturing, Power & Heavy Industry, Transport, Retail, Public Administration, Agriculture, Disability, Aged Care & Support Services.
During inspections, you will assess compliance with legislative requirements and take appropriate action.
This may range from providing advice and information to enforcing compliance measures.
About you

Ideally, you will demonstrate the following:
A systems-thinking approach through experience and/or application Highly developed critical thinking, influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills The ability to assess and investigate situations efficiently to make timely decisions Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and apply legislation or technical standards in a regulatory capacity Proficiency in computer systems and technology Qualifications in OHS or relevant industry/safety experience is desirable (but not essential) Recruitment & training process

Only applications submitted via the WorkSafe Victoria Careers website will be considered Applicants must hold a valid, unrestricted Victorian Driver's Licence (or be eligible to obtain one) Applicants must ensure their availability for all recruitment activities and induction training dates set by WorkSafe, as individual leave requests may not be able to be accommodated.
Induction is scheduled for 3 days at our Essendon Fields office and 2 days at your local office each week for the full 13 week period.
Successful applicants will also be required to enrol in a Diploma of Government.
Preferred candidates must successfully complete a National Criminal History Check, Reference Checks, and Medical Checks.
Given the physical demands of this role, we must ensure you can perform the required duties safely.
Eligibility for ongoing employment with WorkSafe Victoria requires Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
