Servicing North Queensland from the Torres Straits to Bowen, out west to Mt Isa, and everything in between, Max Stocks employs over 100 passionate people who are dedicated to delivering excellent service to our customers.About the RoleWe have a new opportunity for a high calibre experienced Finance Manager to work closely with our General Manager to oversee the financial operations on a day to day basis. The Finance Manager will analyse and evaluate the financial and operational performance of business operations, obtain strong collaboration skills, analyse transactions, and utilise data-driven insights to identify areas of improvement, optimise processes and provide accurate reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise and manage financial matters, assisting with budgets, financial projections and accurate reporting.Improve financial performance by analysing trends and managing financial reporting, and provide recommendations with actionable insights to the General Manager and Managing Director.Assist with developing and overseeing financial strategies, forecasts and budgets to ensure alignment with Max Stocks business objectives.Oversee and support accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.Provide positive and proactive education to management and employees around best practice, contemporary approaches and use of ICT infrastructure.Mentor and lead a small diverse team to ensure the delivery of accurate financial results; whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement with a key focus on financial processes and systems.Key Competencies, Skills and QualificationsTertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.Strong people leadership and team management skills.Strong knowledge and previous experience in business finance/accounting.High degree of analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.Strong demonstrable skills and experience in ICT and project management.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and management.A flexible approach to work with a willingness and ability to demonstrate initiative, accept responsibility and lead by example.Demonstrate integrity and confidentiality, with the ability to maintain discretion as appropriate with delicate and sensitive issues and situations.Experience working in the food services and/or FMCG industries.Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards including HACCP/Food Safety.Max Stocks Offers:Friendly workplace cultureExcellent employee benefits including discounts on our range of productsWork for a progressive, family-owned business
