Engage the community, particularly youth, to participate in and progress through Certificates I/II in Sports and Recreation. Using a range of different sporting competencies and supporting contextualised learning activities that are transferable to all areas of life. Work with the learners to support reasonable pathways to employment or progress in a sporting environment. Where possible, broker Apprenticeships and Traineeships in the Sports and Recreation industry.
The role reports to and works under the direction of the RTO Manager and also requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver training, assessment, and learner support in line with community and employer expectations and to meet regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate and deliver activities that facilitate completions of Certificate II in Sports and Recreation qualification.
2. Design and develop appropriate training plans and share this information with Caseworkers who are supporting the Learners' employment and development needs.
3. Monitor, record, and report on student progress in the correct platforms.
4. Provide support, mentoring, and advice to participants and their referring case workers.
5. Provide input to the ongoing review and improvement of learning resources and assessments based on stakeholder feedback.
6. Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records in the TITEB Student management systems.
7. Contribute to internal audit processes and validation procedures and processes.
8. Contribute to quality assurance processes for learning resources and assessments.
9. Develop and deliver other short courses, accredited and non-accredited programs as required.
Essential
1. TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
2. Evidence of current industry skills and knowledge.
3. Evidence of recent and relevant professional development in VET.
4. Experience designing and delivering education and training programs for Indigenous adults for whom English is not a first language and literacy and numeracy skills are low.
5. Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning principles, creativity, and innovation, and consideration of individual learning needs to ensure that training programs meet client needs.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
7. Ability to research topics, provide advice, and document recommendations.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
9. Current Manual driver’s licence (or ability to obtain).
Desirable
1. Experience or the ability and willingness to live in a remote area community.
2. Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
3. Experience in supporting the development of individual’s skills and abilities.
4. Proven ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines, including managing competing demands and tasks in a complex work environment.
5. Vettrak SMS.
6. Current First aid.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
1. Execute a high number of compliant Pre-Training Assessments.
2. Collect and use data from PTA’s to inform a LLN blueprint of the Tiwi Islands.
3. Conduct and deliver training and assessment which meets the RTO standards 2015.
4. Reporting and resulting are performed in a timely manner.
Further Information: The successful applicant must be prepared to undertake a Police criminal history check and obtain an Ochre Card. A health check prior to relocation to the island may be required.
