Overview
SIG is looking for a Production Engineer. In this role, you will get the opportunity to work closely with traders and the firm’s top technologists in Sydney and the US. You will design and develop new tools to help manage and monitor our market data infrastructure solutions as well as implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
The successful candidate will have the track record of supporting projects to deliver new services and solutions for the market data team as a whole. As a Production Engineer, you will partner closely with the Market Data Software Developer teams in Sydney and US in support of our in-house applications as well as collaborate with other Enterprise technology/business teams to provide a strong and transparent service across the board. You will coordinate technical resources and communicate to both business and technology communities during production issues. You will maintain and monitor market data infrastructure platforms. You will gain an understanding of the various market data products at SIG and will work to diagnose problems within those products.

What we're looking for
1. Experience in an application support, operations, systems administration, or related role
2. An understanding of Linux operating systems
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and communicate during system outages
4. Python, Bash or other scripting experience preferred
5. BS in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, etc) is preferred
6. 1-3 years of experience in a systems administration, engineering or similar role required
7. Knowledge of UDP & TCP protocols and Layer 1 networking preferred
