Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced Assessment Officer to join the Claims Management Improvement Project (CMIP) .
This role is perfect for individuals with a background in case management, particularly those with experience in insurance or banking .
In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, assessing, and determining claims under the Queensland Home Warranty Insurance Scheme .
You'll play a crucial role in improving claims management processes and provide expert support to homeowners and service providers.
Key Responsibilities Claims Assessment : Manage the investigation and assessment of claims under the Queensland Home Warranty Insurance Scheme, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Claims Approval : Contribute to streamlining the claims approval process by accurately determining entitlements and authorizing payments.
Project Contribution : Assist the Senior Lead and Managers in monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on insurance performance.
Play a key role in the development and delivery of the Claims Approval Project plan.
Stakeholder Communication : Provide expert advice to Senior Assessment Officers, Principal Resolution Officers, and other stakeholders.
Offer clear and professional guidance on claims resolution and approval.
Team Collaboration : Work closely with colleagues to continuously improve the claims management process and foster a positive team environment.

Key Skills & Experience Case Management Experience : Proven experience in case management, ideally in insurance, banking, or related financial services sectors.
Analytical & Decision-Making Skills : Ability to assess complex claims, apply relevant policies and guidelines, and make well-informed decisions.
Communication : Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, manage expectations, and provide high-quality customer service.
Regulatory Knowledge : While not essential, familiarity with the legislative and regulatory frameworks around insurance, banking, or claims management will be highly regarded.
Attention to Detail : Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and prioritize caseloads, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
Other Requirements Previous experience in claims management, case management, or a similar field (insurance, banking, or financial services) is essential.
Ability to work within a regulated environment and apply relevant legislation and policies.
Ability to meet pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal history, financial history, and medical assessments.
