FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie.Work scopeThe Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the overall operations and future direction of the Mt Ida laboratory, personnel and equipment. The purpose of the role is to manage, monitor and maintain effective department operations in the laboratory to ensure accurate and efficient provision of data and results. This position is reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent and will require the incumbent to work with various divisions of the Aurenne mining operations, whilst also leading and mentoring Laboratory Technicians to continually build department capability, capacity and performance.AccountabilitiesPlan and implement strategy to ensure the team provide analytical data in agreed timeframes for grade control, plant performance monitoring, metallurgical accounting and exploration purposes.Manage operations and purchasing to ensure maximised economy from consumable materials and reagents. Ensuring production costs and reagent consumption KPI's are met.Assume leadership role for safety through meetings, incident investigations and proactively promote a positive and safe work ethic.Liaison with other departments - Processing and Geology, to understand expectations, future workload and identify improvement opportunities.Promote and adhere to Aurenne procedures and standards by consistently maintaining a high quality of work across allocated functions.Oversee daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on all equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.Maintain the QA/QC standards of assays produced.Drive improvements in procedures to achieve industry standard practice.Experience, Qualifications and SkillsTertiary qualification in science or relevant discipline is preferred, alternately, Cert IV in laboratory practices.5-10 years mining experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience in gold.High level transformational leadership capability.Demonstrates an advanced level of communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrates a high level of PC skills and computer literacy.Advanced operating knowledge and troubleshooting for AAS and PAL machines and aqua regia techniques.Strong understanding of sample preparation and sampling techniques.Exemplary trouble shooting, problem solving and decision-making abilities.Provide a clear national police clearance.Able to pass a full medical and drug and alcohol screen.Benefits of working with AurenneWork direct for the mine and a family business.Employee discounts and offers through our HR / payroll system.Access to free employee assistance program.Access to salary packaging options.Short commute to site.Clean and comfortable camp facilities.In-house catering staff.At Aurenne, we value teamwork, safety, and respect.
