The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) Board Clinical Governance Committee (the Committee) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals who are, or have been, a senior medical officer for the position of External Member, with a focus on clinical governance. The Committee’s purpose is to assist the SALHN Governing Board by providing oversight and advice in the provision of safe, quality and reliable health care services through effective clinical governance frameworks. Specifically, this role will assist the Committee in: Overseeing best practice, evidence based and effective clinical governance in the delivery of safe, quality and reliable health care services. Providing advice on the development of clinical practice systems and the associated controls to manage risk. Monitoring compliance with clinical related legislation, regulations and standards. Keeping the Committee informed of emerging clinical governance practices and continuous improvement opportunities. Applicants should have well developed governance skills, exceptional clinical governance knowledge and experience and an in-depth understanding of the provision of health care services, and experience in use and application of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) in a clinical setting. The role requires candidates who are available to actively participate in the Committee which meets every two months at Flinders Medical Centre.
