Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager who is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's payroll systems and processes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant employee compensation. This role involves coordinating payroll operations, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. The Payroll Manager will act as the key liaison between HR, Finance, and external stakeholders regarding payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages, benefits, bonuses, and deductions for all employees.Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll, taxation, superannuation, and employee entitlements.Evaluate and improve payroll systems and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging relevant technologies and tools.Supervise, guide, and develop payroll team members to ensure high performance and professional growth while fostering a collaborative work environment.Prepare detailed payroll reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities, offering insights into payroll trends, budget forecasting, and compliance status.Conduct periodic payroll audits, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to mitigate financial or compliance risks.Manage employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, resolving issues promptly and maintaining confidentiality.Work closely with HR and Finance teams to align payroll processes with organisational goals, budgets, and workforce strategies. Qualifications 5-7 years' experience as a Payroll Team Lead or Manager role, delivering a payroll solution for 5,000 team membersExperience in a complex or matrixed environment or a multination organisation preferredExperience in Dayforce Payroll preferred but not essentialDemonstrated experience in leading and developing a team of professionals within a generalist or service centre environmentPrior experience delivering a new payroll system preferred but not essentialAnalysing data to identify and improve customer experienceStrong working knowledge of employee legislation, controls and compliance required in an application of and advisory capacityWell-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under their own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost Additional Information We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.
