The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint Sustainability Coordinator based on construction site.
About the Role
We are currently looking for a Sustainability Coordinator based on site to play a key role in providing sustainable outcomes for the project by supporting the project team to understand their sustainability obligations, identifying and implementing sustainability initiatives and supporting the project to meet its sustainability objectives.
Accountabilities
The following key accountabilities relate to this position:
* Provide advice and guidance to the design, construction, commercial, operational, and other key project teams in relation to sustainability requirements
* Track and monitor progress of sustainability rating tool submissions
* Compilation of sustainability rating tool submissions
* Compile and monitor against the project sustainability reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to the project team, senior management and the client
* Support the development, implementation and ongoing management of project environmental & sustainability management systems
* Support the management of environment & sustainability consultants
* Undertake environmental & sustainability field monitoring and inspections as required
* Identify and initiate localised sustainability improvement initiatives
* Identify and communicate improvements to corporate and project sustainability management processes
* Report sustainability performance, compliance and defects
* Support project induction and environmental management systems/tools training as required
* Influence a positive and proactive environmental & sustainability culture across the Project
* Perform all duties in accordance with the Project’s policies, processes, systems and procedures.
* Understand, comply, and remain current with all policies, procedures, and compliance training as relevant to your role.
* Maintain up to date knowledge and application of, legislation, industry standards and technological innovations as relevant to your role.
* Perform all duties assigned to you in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Management Plan and the Work health and Safety legislation
* Perform all tasks assigned to you with respect to the realisation of positive performance indicators mandated by the Project
What you’ll need to succeed
* Degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent.
* MUST HAVE experience in working on construction sites.
* Experience delivering a sustainability a management plan and contract sustainability targets.
* A minimum of 3 years working in a similar role within the Construction industry.
* ISAP and/or GSAP certification and experience delivering an Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) and Green Star Ratings is preferable.
