What will your typical day look like?
You will work on some of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects in New South Wales and the east coast. Our government clients and teams will depend on you and your team to help address ‘front-page’ and ‘big-ticket’ issues related to social and economic infrastructure and critical, supporting associated services. Your role will involve economic and financial advisory services as well as strategy and project management.
You will also be provided the opportunity to develop our people, help to grow our relationships with existing and new clients and increase our capability and market reach. Our team has people from varied backgrounds including economics, finance, accountancy, law, town planning, transaction and operations management and government policy.
You might find yourself :
o collaborating with Government and its stakeholders to inform investments in the State’s next generation of social infrastructure, transport and power / utilities
o working with a team, including architects, engineers, planners and people across multiple areas of government to reimagine challenges and to frame investment options that can drive economic growth and deliver optimised outcomes and value for money for a variety of different stakeholders. including local communities
o developing novel and evidence-backed methodologies that can effectively advance understanding of the public value of proposed investments.
About the team
The Infrastructure & Project Solutions team are focused on advising on some of the largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects and programs, as well as complex government services contracts. Our work spans the infrastructure lifecycle from policy and strategy development, to preparation of compelling, complex business cases through to designing and managing procurement processes to close transactions. We work across a range of sectors including transport, social infrastructure such as education, sports & recreation, as well as power and utilities infrastructure and precincts & urban renewal.
Enough about us, let's talk about you
You will have all or some of the following skills / experiences :
o Experience, preferably in a consulting environment, with Government clients or in the public sector with an interest and understanding in infrastructure
o Deep expertise in undertaking economic and financial analysis for complex infrastructure and other transformative investments, including in development of appropriate and novel methodologies to address emerging challenges in benefit quantification, which are sufficiently well-considered to withstand peer review and / or central agency scrutiny
o Experience in effective communication of compelling quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g. economic, financial and commercial analysis) to support investment decision-making
o An appreciation of and / or experience in business cases and / or transactions for infrastructure or major projects
o Experience in applying government guidelines to develop business cases and economic appraisal (e.g. IAAF, ATAP, NSW Treasury, TfNSW, NSW Health, WebTAG) and managing stakeholder review and assurance processes
o Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
o Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and support team members’ development
o A desire to learn and grow
o A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Economics, Econometrics, Public Policy, Commerce, Law, Finance or Engineering).
