Confluence Water, the Ventia, Downer and Jacobs joint venture, is one of three consortia delivering services under Sydney Water’s Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water’s North region, which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Contracts / Procurement Manager to join our Confluence Water Joint Venture team, in a permanent, site based, full-time position. This key role is based at North Head, Manly and will be responsible for the Projects across one of Sydney Water's largest assets. Sydney Water must grow and maintain these assets to meet the needs of the communities and their water services in the North Region. Reporting to the Commercial and Procurement Manager, this key role is accountable for ensuring that all procurement packages are prepared and delivered in accordance with Confluence Water and Sydney Water’s Shared Purchasing tendering policy and subcontract management.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to Sydney Water, internal Project Managers, subcontractors/suppliers and ensure the Shared Purchasing Function thrives.
2. Effectively plan, programme, and manage the preparation of subcontractors and procurement contracts for the Northwest Growth Area Portfolio of work.
3. Negotiate with industry to provide economies of scale when negotiating contracts.
4. Determine the appropriate contract type to use for all engagements.
5. Proactively bring new Contractors to Sydney Water for inclusion in the Shared Purchasing Framework.
6. Support management in the decision-making process and the implementation of the decisions.
7. Have a clear understanding of the subcontractor or procurement scope and can communicate this to client and stakeholders.
8. Mentor and coach direct reports.
ABOUT YOU
9. System savvy – SAP Experience is highly desirable.
10. Previous experience in a procurement role within a large organisation. (essential)
11. Experience using a tender and contract management system (Ariba experience essential).
12. Display a high degree of accuracy and attention to details (essential).
13. Demonstrates the confidence and flexibility to work under pressure and ability to work as a team member independently.
14. Strong communication skills and methods to communicate information and ideas effectively and appropriately.
15. Demonstrates excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, able to analyse and select appropriate solution from range of competing results.
16. Manage and mentor direct reports to ensure all deadlines are met.
17. NEC4 Contract experience would be desirable.
18. Highly developed Microsoft office skills.
