Perth) Join Roy Hill as the Manager Load and Haul and leverage our significant investment in industry-first autonomous technology to drive efficiency, performance and productivity at our smart mine of the future .
Located in Western Australia's Pilbara region, the Roy Hill mine is both technically and logistically challenging, with a complex ore body and significant size and scale spanning more than 20 kms in radius.
Reporting to the General Manager Mining, you'll be joining Roy Hill in a key leadership position that will have impact, autonomy and the opportunity to influence strategy and direction, as our teams work together to create the world's largest smart mine and meet our production target of 70mtpa iron ore. Building on our recent investment in our fleet and infrastructure, including the capacity of our maintenance facilities, you'll lead an experienced team to optimise the reliability, fuel efficiency and utilisation of our Hitachi and Caterpillar haul trucks, newly delivered Liebherr excavators and another 120 vehicles in the HME fleet.
Working closely and collaboratively with our maintenance, asset management and processing teams you'll be laser focused on improving operational efficiency, planning and scheduling people, plant and materials to maintain a consistent feed to the crushers to meet production targets and schedules.
You'll be leading change and technology adoption, working in close partnership with mine planning, scheduling and our external partners, to embed our in-house autonomous technology program, monitoring interactions between crewed and autonomous plant, and liaising with our control centre to ensure the safe movement of more than 1mt material per day.

About you: You are a champion of continuous improvement, skilled in analysing and integrating data into daily decision making to reduce cycle times and ensure safety.
You are confident to drive and encourage the importance, value and achievement of departmental goals, and clearly communicate thorough, timely information to business stakeholders.
Your collaborative approach and curiosity have helped you to develop sound technical knowledge across complementary disciplines, giving you the ability to quickly build relationships and influence in complex operations where site-based teams, technical functions and external partners need to work together to achieve outcomes.
You'll bring to our team demonstrated capability in managing and motivating large workforces in a mining production environment and will positively impact our people and culture through safety leadership, and active coaching and developing of your team.
Key qualifications and skills: Degree in engineering or a similar technical field; or substantial experience and relevant training to an equivalent level Extensive leadership experience in a mining production environment, including load and haul and heavy equipment maintenance Demonstrated capability to drive safety culture and outcomes Ability to manage and collaborate effectively with large, multi-disciplinary teams Excellent organisational skills, with a high level of proficiency in data analysis and reporting, planning, scheduling and resolving conflicting priorities Desirable WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate WA Site Senior Executive Certificate (qualifications can be supported for the right candidate) Mine Site Facilities: Modern, comfortable camp accommodation High quality restaurant with buffet style and cooked-to-order meals and vegan, gluten free and healthy menus, together with a rotating variety of food trucks for casual evening dining and in-room take away options Large fully equipped gym facilities, including a women-only gym Heated outdoor swimming pool, beach volleyball court and golf simulators Extensive village amenities, including village shop and cafe SWIFT in-room entertainment with the latest movies and streaming content, and own-device casting capability.
