Executive Leadership Opportunity Peak Professional Body Sydney Based Role About the Organisation The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) is a national peak body organisation. It is also a regulatory body of the profession of Quantity Surveyors. Its purpose is to promote the profession and to provide leadership, standards, and a code of ethics to assist practising Quantity Surveyors to deliver the highest standards of professional excellence.
The AIQS currently has approximately 3,500 paying members spread throughout Australia and overseas. Approximately 1/3 of paying members reside outside Australia.
Your new role Reporting to the President, the role of the CEO is to implement the vision and strategies set by the Board of Directors. This involves overseeing the overall leadership and management of the National Office, while supporting the National President, Executive, and Board of Directors in fulfilling their responsibilities. The CEO is also responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the six Australian and one international Chapters, as well as creating, executing, and reporting on Strategic Plans, annual Business Plans, and associated initiatives.
Additionally, the CEO is tasked with appointing and managing the performance of all staff employed by AIQS, ensuring the organisation's financial performance and sustainability, and maintaining the AIQS Marketing Strategy. These responsibilities require strategic oversight and effective management to drive the success and growth of the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are preferred; however, individuals who can demonstrate the relevant skills, experience, and ability to achieve the key outcomes of the position are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a background in successfully managing or working within a professional services organisation would be highly regarded. A strong commercial and business focus, paired with a proven track record in successfully managing a business, is essential. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of the quantity surveying profession and the building and construction industry would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader, an excellent communicator with high emotional intelligence and display strong personal attributes that allow you to engage with all levels of stakeholders comfortably.
