About the Role
The Manager – Technical Services is responsible for leading, coordinating, and optimising the performance of the Technical Services department by ensuring all facets of Mine Planning, Survey, Geotechnical, Gas & Drainage, and Ventilation for the site are in line with the business goals whilst ensuring regulatory compliance to the Queensland Coal Mining plus associated state and federal legislation.
Moreover, this position is responsible for ensuring the execution team is supplied with an effective mine plan that will produce the required results in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, the role is responsible for EOM reporting, underground reconciliation, developing and reviewing operational data, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide day-to-day support, leadership, and encouragement for the technical services team ensuring a productive and positive workplace environment
2. Ensure technical services-controlled procedures are current and meet legislative requirements
3. Responsible for technical planning, grade control planning, and economic planning for underground production optimisation
4. Ensure appropriate associations are maintained between short-term, medium-term, and life-of-mine plans
5. Ensure appropriate reconciliation for waste, mine designs, coal, and products are completed
6. Preparation of compliance documentation required for the QLD Resources Regulator and other regulatory agencies
7. Ensure optimal utilisation and management of the mine site's ore body
8. Responsible for Life of Mine (LOM) planning and budgets using various predictive planning software
9. Monitor and manage geotechnical functions and geological activities, ventilation, grade control, and mine planning ensuring adherence to company goals and targets
10. Ensure accurate survey end-of-month report is completed, and sites spatial data is captured and maintained
11. Review and deliver timely and accurate capital and operating budgets, regular forecasts, and accruals used for effective cost management on a daily, monthly, and annual basis, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
About You
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Survey
2. Advanced Diploma of Underground Coal Mining Management (desirable)
3. First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable)
4. S1, S2, S3, (Mandatory)
5. Open drivers' licence (mandatory)
