We have a permanent full-time opportunity based in Adelaide SA responsible for working across multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux and Unix the Battlespace Administrator is a critical role for ensuring the continued operation of the Battlespace Surveillance Centre (BSC) at the RAAF Edinburgh base. This includes managing and maintaining mission system services, performing day-to-day operational and administrative tasks, monitoring system availability and capacity, incident management, problem diagnoses and resolution, backups/patch management and cyber security while complying with change management procedures and working in a defence environment.

o Provides the technical operations for BSC’s complex IT server and communication solutions that comply with Defence technical standards and security policies.
o Manages system accounts, permissions and directory operations and ensure service delivery staff have the necessary up-to-date information for account administration activities.
o Provides the technical input into the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans & Business Continuity Plans for server and communication infrastructure.
o Monitors system performance.
o Manages software installation, configuration and updates for operating systems, firmware, and software applications including security updates as directed by configuration management authority.
o Performs system and network configuration maintenance.
o Manages backup and recovery protocols.
o Installs and manages firewall and intrusion-detection monitoring systems.
o Manages backup system to safeguard critical data collection.
o Performs advanced troubleshooting and network problem resolution in coordination with maintainers.
o Coordinates with and provides support for depot-level maintenance actions.
Qualifications
* Australian Citizen with Australian Government Security Clearance.

o Relevant Certificate IV/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
o Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience preferred.
o Demonstrated experience in a Systems Administration 2nd / 3rd Level support role (UNIX, Linux and Microsoft).
o Experience in monitoring a complex IT environment.
o Experience in diagnosing networking fault
