Design, implement & optimise data platform with an industry leading NFP
About the role:
Reporting to the Data and Analytics (D&A) Manager, the Lead Data Engineer will design and implement data warehouse and foundational data assets in alignment with BaptistCare's Data and Analytics Strategy. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including the Data and Analytics team, technology teams, Azure experts, business representatives, and various technology specialists, to deliver and implement the data (BI) assets used across the organisation.
In this newly created Lead Data Engineer role, you'll be at the forefront of building our organisation's data assets, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including the D&A and BTS teams, Azure experts, and business representatives. You'll leverage various technologies to deliver and implement data warehouse and other data assets, all while being part of our growing company known for its dynamic, supportive, and enjoyable team culture.
What will you be responsible for:
Design, implement, and optimize data systems for reporting, including ETL pipelines, storage, retrieval, and presentation tools.
Develop and maintain a Data Lakehouse based on medallion architecture using metadata-driven pipelines in Azure.
Design and implementation of medallion data architecture and metadata-driven data pipelines.
Design and implement data architecture and foundational data assets in alignment with the organisation's Data and Analytics Strategy.
Work with diverse stakeholders to deliver and implement detailed designs across various departments.
Establish data governance policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture and models.
What you will bring to the role:
Excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Data Platform tools like Azure Synapse, ADF, Data Lake, Databricks, and Power BI.
5+ years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies like SSIS, SSAS.
4+ years' experience in data warehouse development and design on both on-premises and cloud platforms.
Experience in Healthcare and Aged Care domain data models and data warehouses.
Degree in Information Technology or Business Intelligence.
