About the Opportunity With an exciting pipeline of future work for the Australian Defence Force at the Henderson Shipyard, now is the time to join a dynamic and outcome focussed team and be part of the continuous naval shipbuilding program for the Australian Defence. The role of the Contract Manager is responsible for maximising our commercial opportunities within the boundaries of the contract and ensuring commercial risks are understood, documented, and managed appropriately to minimise impact to the Business and the CoA. This role works operationally within the Project Delivery team and is functionally situated within the Commercial Management team in the Strategic Shipbuilding Management cohort. The role includes: Maintain a contract management framework through a standard set of business rules, control guidelines, practices and processes. Manage all Contractual Risk across the Project, working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager to ensure appropriate governance is maintained. Manage Contract Master Schedule, ensuring all key contractual deliverables are fully understood and delivered. Implement and maintain Contract Performance Reports (internal and external). Evaluate performance and efficiencies, address barriers and prioritise critical areas. Lead and support risk and opportunity management, strategic change management and business improvement activities and initiatives. What do I need? Degree or equivalent in Business, Law or Commerce. Commercial astuteness, understanding of commercial frameworks and interpretation of commercial clauses. Strong experience in negotiation & conflict resolution complimented by influencing and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide technical leadership, whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships within the team and across the business. Proven understanding of project management principles.
