Position Purpose
As a Therapy Assistant, you will have experience within the social and community services sector and hold or be in the last year of relevant qualifications. You will operate under the guidance of a psychologist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist, implementing a therapy plan in the workplace, home, or community as required, aligning with the clients goals. You will provide progress notes to the allied health professional managing their therapy plan and undergo regular training to deliver appropriate support and therapy.
Tasks and Accountabilities
Conduct Therapy Assistance: Implement therapy plans under the supervision of psychologists and occupational therapists, monitor the clients progress, and adjust the approach as needed.
Support Individuals: Understand the clients needs and aspirations, and provide tailored support to help them reach their objectives.
Progress Notes: Document the clients progress, note any challenges or setbacks, and suggest potential adjustments to the therapy plan.
Training: Stay up-to-date with the latest therapy techniques and approaches, and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Relevant Qualifications: Hold or be in the last year of obtaining relevant qualifications. Have a deep understanding of therapy techniques and approaches, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
Disability Support Knowledge: Experience or interest in disability support and/or employment services. Understand the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, and the strategies and resources that can help them achieve their personal goals.
Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to clients, therapists, and team members.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with a diverse range of professionals to provide comprehensive support to clients.
NDIS Worker Screening Check: Hold a current NDIS worker screening check, demonstrating suitability to work with individuals with disabilities.

Work Location(s): Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane (as allocated), flexible depending on client plan
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time or Casual
Working Hours: On a fortnightly roster
Work Setting(s): Individual participant(s) home, Community settings, Activity centre(s), Central or head office, Workplaces and businesses
Pay Range/Award: SCHADS Award Level 2 or 3 dependent on qualifications and experience
