Position Title: Maintenance Electrician Department: Maintenance Reports To: Maintenance Manager Location : Adelaide Hourly rate : $47/hour Position Overview: The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Key Responsibilities: 1. Electrical Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, including motors, conveyors, PLCs, and control panels. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform corrective actions. 2. Installation and Upgrades: Install, modify, or upgrade electrical equipment and systems as required by operational needs. Ensure proper wiring and connections for new and existing machinery. 3. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards. Maintain and update electrical schematics and documentation. 4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to address and prioritize issues. Provide technical support and training to colleagues when necessary. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repairs, replacements, and inspections. Assist in preparing maintenance reports for management review. Qualifications and Skills: ● Education and Certification: Trade qualification as an Electrician or equivalent. Electrical License (Class A preferred). Certification in PLC programming and industrial automation is advantageous. ● Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with automated machinery, including conveyors, motors, and control systems. ● Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults. Knowledge of PLC systems, VFDs, and industrial wiring. Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations. ● Personal Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure. Work Conditions: Rotating shifts or on-call duties may be required. Standing, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights may be necessary. Use se of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
