About the Role
The Grampians BreastScreen team is seeking a dedicated Nurse Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. You will provide client centered care for individuals recalled for further assessment after a mammogram, coordinating assessment clinics and delivering counselling, nursing care, and follow-up support. As a client advocate, you’ll focus on quality improvement initiatives.
Serving clients from the western suburbs of Melbourne to the South Australian border, you will arrange appointments and develop care pathways, considering the diverse needs of our clients. This challenging role requires attention to detail and extensive nursing experience. If you’re passionate about women’s health, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and organise clinics with relevant stakeholders, ensuring all necessary reports are prepared.
* Provide information, counselling, and support to clients throughout the assessment process.
* Obtain informed consent, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to infection control policies.
* Assist with and undertake clinical procedures as part of the multidisciplinary assessment team.
* Engage in mandatory training, supervision, and professional development initiatives.
* Support compliance with accreditation standards and participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
