The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations within the MSP line of business and a team of Project Controllers. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
The Finance Manager will ensure that all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with policies, while driving continuous improvement in financial processes and literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure adherence to reporting deadlines and maintain accuracy, relevance, and completeness of financial information.
2. Collaborate with MSP operations to support effective governance of accounts, programs, and projects, ensuring all finance and business obligations are met.
3. Prepare consolidated MSP reporting and planning activities including monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and annual budgeting.
4. Maintain control over non-labour indirect expenditures.
5. Drive continual improvement of financial literacy within the MSP.
6. Embed or assign appropriate financial resources into each program to support reporting, analysis, and business management.
7. Act as gate reviewer for program Estimates at Completion (EACs) in collaboration with MSP leadership.
8. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and key stakeholders.
9. Facilitate continuous business improvements and strategic decision-making.
10. Support bids and proposals as required.
11. Oversee MSP risk and issue monitoring, providing appropriate solutions and mitigations.
12. Develop and implement career progression and succession plans for direct reports.
Qualifications:
13. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
14. CPA or CA qualification will be highly advantageous
15. Proven experience in financial or business management within the defence industry
16. Strong understanding of financial principles, reporting, and compliance.
17. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
18. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
19. Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
20. Proficiency in financial software, MS Dynamics and MS Office Suite.
21. High attention to detail and organisational skills.
22. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
