A day in the life of a Head of Media and Communications... Lead a high-performing Media and Communications team while providing strategic guidance to the broader Marketing and Communications team.
Drive proactive media relations to strengthen Aruma's brand awareness and position it as a Human Rights and disability sector leader.
Develop and implement crisis communication strategies to protect and uphold the organisation's reputation.
Build and maintain strong media networks while adopting innovative communication techniques and best practices to enhance Aruma's outreach.
Report on communications activities, foster continuous improvement, and champion the Aruma brand across the organisation.
What You Need to be Successful in this Role...
Tertiary qualifications in Media, Communications, or a related field.
10+ years of leadership experience in fast-paced, complex environments.
Proven expertise in corporate communications, media strategy, and stakeholder management.
Strong relationship-building, coaching, and team development skills.
Solid understanding of media relations and communication best practices.
Bold, innovative thinker with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
Exceptional verbal, presentation, and writing skills, tailored for diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to simplify and translate complex information.
Ability to manage priorities, meet tight deadlines, and stay updated on the disability sector.
