The Solicitor will provide high quality, timely, independent legal advice and representation on matters of varying complexity and sensitivity.
The Solicitor will be responsible for the coordination, knowledge management and legal practice of the HRO work to ensure applications and proceedings are handled effectively and efficiently with continued high quality of advice and representation.
The Solicitor may have the opportunity to contribute to the other diverse legal work of the Public Law Section.About the BusinessThe Crown Solicitor's Office provides legal services to government specifically to Ministers, departments and other public sector agencies.
This includes providing legal advice, conducting a wide range of litigation including representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating and drafting for commercial property and general commercial transactions, drafting and producing a broad range of other legal documents, conducting summary prosecutions, Magistrates' appeals and native title claims and land conveyancing and investigation.Special Conditions for EmploymentEmployment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory.
