Guma-Warnii is the result of a valued and enduring relationship that began on Kuruma Country years ago. With our continued growth, Guma-Warnii is currently undertaking multiple projects for Rio Tinto across the mining and construction sectors.
We are currently recruiting for a Civil Construction Supervisor experienced in Team management & Construction to join our exciting new Project at Rio Tinto's West Angeles site on a 2/1, days only roster!
Project Scope is within Mine Asset Development, which includes Site works and Construction of MEM Park up facility, installation of crib room & relating infrastructure, construction of sediment ponds and turkey nests. This project is commencing on site from Jan 2025, therefore availability to undertake mobilisation & training and in-house familiarisation in early-mid December 2024.
Due to a number of factors pertaining to Medical, Training & Travel logistics, we are targeting WA based applicants only.
Responsibilities:
* Liaise with and manage construction team of staff, sub-contractors and suppliers, by suitably selecting, evaluating, monitoring, and controlling performance and meeting of deliverables.
* Plan for, implement, monitor and adhere to policies and procedures, of both the company and the client, and all other stakeholders as required.
* Convey various construction information to company management including statistics, budget information, personnel and sub-contractor performance, and contribute to company strategic plans and reviews, and implementation of company quality and customer-service standards.
* Resolve problems and identify construction management system improvements.
* Meet project budgets and timeframes through implementation of suitable controls, monitoring, managing, and reporting.
* Understand the contract, scopes of works, engineering specifications and drawings, and identify variations under the contract to any of the commercial and/or technical requirements.
* Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by ensuring standards and any legal regulations are complied with.
* Enhance the companies reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to projects and communicating this with clients.
* Seek out, communicate, obtain approvals for change, and implement various improvements in methodology to improve on project safety, quality, budget, and timeframe.
* Provide planning and logistical support.
* Participate in various company improvement forums, ie lessons learnt, procedural reviews etc.
* Networking and representation of the company to promote/nurture future business prospects.
* Other project related duties as required.
Pre Requisite Requirements:
* Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar environment (mining) supervising projects in NPI Infrastructure, Earthworks, associated management of construction process for a project
* Relevant Construction Certification such as Carpentry Trade Cert
* Hold relevant machinery operating tickets
* Computer and technology skills required for reporting, communication & record keeping
* Ideally familiar with Procore, Dashpivot, Smartsheet and MyOSH
* Willing & able to pass a Pre Employment Medical including CVD risk (blood test) and LABDAS
* Preferably hold a valid HR Licence
* Must hold a current White Card
* Preferably hold current Rio Inductions
* Hold a National Police Clearance within 12 months
* Section 44 Appointed Persons qualification, Section 26 advantage
* Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel)
* 4WD Ticket (adv) or willing to undertake course
